At least you seem to be able to browse the Busse site, at our local “stitch-em-up” weapons sites are blocked,....doesn’t matter that you have free speech, you are in the hospital so “fu.”

My neighbor got nipped on the nutsack while bent over trying to separate two of his male dogs...I swear, it's at times like this when I wonder if they can truly be caused "man's best friend!"

You are a lucky man, if you can consider getting skewered lucky. That could have ended badly. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

BTW, Zosyn is a combination drug--an antibiotic, and a medicine to help fight resistance to it.

Been about a week since it happened but heres my oh crap moment of the year

So my neighbors dog has been in heat, having 2 male dobies Ive been keeping them separated 1 in 1 out, different sections of the yard etc to avoid any fights.

It was early morning, I accidently put them both out in the without thinking then I hit the shower. 10-12 minutes later i get out and hear everyone outside screaming so i run out in my damn underwear and see a fight going down. I managed to pull them off eachother but in the midst of doing so was knocked to the ground by the swinging ass of a 130lb dog to the kneecap "hes almost taller than my vets great dane".

But of course it wasnt as simple as just falling down, something had to go horribly wrong...I had family over who spent the night and we were all doing hotdogs and marshmallows around the fire the night before where they were fighting. We were using those long metal skewers, kinda like long mini versions of the big barbed forks you use to bbq. But somebody left one out there :oops:

I'm walking back towards the house with a collar held tight in each hand when I hear screaming again and Im telling everyone its fine i got them, then my mother says whatever you do dont move! so first thing I think is oh crap must be a cottonmouth or a copperhead in the grass im walking in. Right after I stopped moving I started feeling like i had to cough, but I couldnt.... uh oh somethings wrongs here, then I start feeling something warm running down my back and leg.. thinking okay now I'm really in trouble... somehow I was walking around with a skewer about 6 inches into my back without feeling a thing...

Being way out in the country has its ups and downs... one being an ambulance seemed like it took 20+ minutes to show up even though the further away medic from the fire dept got there in about 7....

Long story short-er it went through bowel and punctured a lung so they fixed me up but I'm laying here hooked to ivs full of vancomycin, something called zosyn and about 4 other meds they keep bring in.

I of course after almost a week I am ready to leave ASAP but they want me here until AT LEAST next saturday. The most aggervating part of all is this non stop insanely loud ringing in my ears, they said its probably from 1 of the meds but they cant take me off of anything. So at most I get 4hrs sleep per day :(... and I can only eat the blandest of foods Id litterally stab myself again for a steak :mad:, or a burger.... I feel like a vegan in here and my body is totally rebelling against that. Probably get out of here with an urge to where a hemp sweater vest and buy painted antique furniture, maybe even start a blog that nobdy reads :confused:

Atleast I prepaid for My V8 my damn insurance deductable is now charging me for extended hospital stay at $125 a day upto $1000 :mad: ontop the original $500. Uninsured Id probably be at $30k by now but still my wallet hurts

If Im slow to reply I'm probably sleeping "fingers crossed" or else sombody has stopped by "kinda driving me crazy" with everybody showing up all day every day hanging around hrs at a time o_O

Thank god you are ok. That could have been very bad as anything that punctures a lung is bad but a bowel as well risks sepsis.

Hope for speedy recovery.

Hopefully this will all just be a good story one day.
