Well got that bandsaw in that Lisa bought..just thought Id pass along some thoughts..Its the Grizzly G0561 7 x 12 with coolant system..First off its not a Ellis or Wellsaw but it seems to be a dang fine machine.. Have had it for about two weeks now and have already cut many feet of steel with it.Just got in a new Lenox bi-metal blade for it which I know will be vastly superior to the carbon steel blade that was on it..Happened to have gotten a fine example it seems. Fit and finish are all good. Coolant tank holds appx 3 gallons I think. Filled it up with what was handy at the time, Lenox band-ade which seems to do well with no rust issues at all. Hydraulic cyclinder holds good, easy to adjust. Coolant system drip is easy to adjust and seems to work perfectly..After many cuts there were no chips at all in the blade housing so the brush and coolant are doing their job..
Well on to the cutting and keep in mind this is with the cheap carbon blade..The last test piece was a 1 1/4" solid bar. the saw cut within .002 of square over 1 1/4"..We cut a stack of four pieces of angle measuring 3" x 3" x 1/4" for a new make tables legs..didn't not measure them but came out pretty well dead square on a combo square..All set flat on the floor and matched so that's what matters..
All in all the saw we got is a fine example of this model grizzly..heres to hoping that lasts for years ;)

Congratulations. We have the same saw made by Jet. Break in you bandsaw blades and they will last much longer. We use it on the slowest speed which also extended blade life. Occasionally check the belt tension. It has been a trouble free tool.

How much faster does it cut than a 4x6?
The difference is night and day. We gave away our 4x6 and have never missed it.

I don't know how much faster it will cut but have been feeding it slow to break in the blade..Two main reasons we went to this size was the increased capacity and the coolant system..Really wanted a saw that would cut a decent sized piece of plate.

Yea, thanks..The coolant is nice when cutting big pieces of alloy steel or plate..Good 93" blades arnt cheap and you like them to last as long as possible you know..
