Got the BADs

I wish I could tell the difference but no love here yet. Lunde lives a couple miles down the road from me and post office must like him better.

Heavy, I see that model on sale all the time at Harbor Freight. Mine has kept its zero quite well over the past year. It's often 15.99, and I saw a coupon the other day where you could get the calipers for $9.

I think $19.99 is full price, but like I said, they go on sale a lot.

I was not able to score on any, which sucks because the AD is my favorite small Busse. Skunk you putting more back up right?:D
 
I got my BAD. It's so BAD that I'm channelling Michael Jackson. Shamooaaah! HOOOOO! HEE HEE HEE! I'm BAD!
 
I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about the BAD until it showed up, but damn am I loving this thing. I never was wild about the AD blade shape, more of a meaner fan, but having it in hand is vastly different than looking at photos online. new second-favorite busse ever, until I get my next one.

The Harbor Freight ones look identical (aside from color) to the Frankford Arsenal calipers sold by Midway for $32.99. You can check out the reviews here.

But I'd buy the Harbor Freight model when it goes on sale for $15.99. There'll probably be a grand opening at your store. Same calipers, best I can tell. Lots of guys use them for measuring brass and recommend them highly.

If I were going to spend any more, I'd go whole HOG and get a set of Mitutoyos or Starretts. However, some of the guys on the gun boards mention that these cheaper digital versions stack up well against the more expensive dial counterparts. Just another indication that the Chinese may be taking over the world soon.

If you'd like to smell China, I recommend you visit a Harbor Freight location. When you walk in the door, the smell of plastic and rubber overwhelms. That said, the stuff is dirt cheap and some of it is well made. Of course, if you buy Mitutoyo, your money is going to Japan, and Starrett has plants in Brazil, Scotland, the Dominican Republic and China. Globalization. What are you gonna' do? :confused:

At some point though, I'm getting myself a set of dial calipers, even if they're made in Australia. :p

My red/black came. Waiting on a black one. Trying to decide whether or not to keep both. It is tempting. These are very cool edc's
 
Got my BAD yesterday, its my first Busse (well, had a GW, but that went back) and I love it so far! The only problem is now I keep seeing all these red and black scales! Now just to find a good sheath for EDC.
 
My BAD and kydex sheath arrived today. As a new Busse owner, I'm very impressed by the both the design and execution. I see the BAD as darn-close-to-perfect fixed blade for general every day carry. Now, what's with the marble? :confused:

I have quite a little collection of Skunk Junk, myself. Including a few 'uniques.' Just another benefit of kool-aid drinking. ;)

Per the FAQs, maybe I'm referring to the LMRS (Leaner MeaneR Street). I'm in the steep part of the learning curve now. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Skunk has been boasting, lately, of his 'boning' abilities ... referring to his advanced procedures for molding sheaths. Not that everyone takes it that way. :D

Who knows?? With the advent of the Boney ADs (gotta catch 'em all!) ... maybe your wish will be granted. But I warn you -- a whole lot of us will be snuffling at the Trough that day. :D:D

Missed the post count. Welcome. And you are right about the LMRS. I imagine that those are as skinny as the Meaners have come. There are a few resident Mean/Meaner experts here who can advise.

Still, if you're looking for a mean boner, really just give Skunk a shout. :p
