I'm not sure what the carry laws are where you live, but thet new 2007 Buck catalog shows a new Mayo offering that is a shorter version of the TNT. The blade is 2 5/8" where the TNT blade is 3 1/8". You should check it out.

It's the Waimea.
There's a Waimea on Oahu (which is a surf town on the North Shore).
There's also a town called Waimea (Kamulea) on the Big Island that I really like and was gonna retire at last year. But I lost all my dough in the dot-bomb bust...I'm getting depressed.
Get the Waimea :)

I live in Selah ,WA. The law you refer to is a Seattle Municipal Code law. Here's the statute. I've included the definition of a dangerous knife under their muni code. My condolences! :jerkit:

SMC 12A.14.010 Definitions.
The following definitions apply in this chapter:
A. "Dangerous knife" means any fixed-blade knife and any other knife having a blade more than three and one-half inches (3 1/2") in length.


SMC 12A.14.080 Unlawful use of weapons. It is unlawful for a person knowingly to:
A. Sell, manufacture, purchase, possess or carry any blackjack, sand-club, metal knuckles, switchblade knife, chako sticks, or throwing stars; or
B. Carry concealed or unconcealed on his or her person any dangerous knife, or carry concealed on his or her person any deadly weapon other than a firearm;
