Re: mods to Spartan

Thank you for your suggestion.* I have passed this email on to our R&D department.*
*
Our plate is very full for new products coming up, but they do look at all suggestions.** If it is an item that will become part of our line, R&D will release that information when it is ready for production.
*
Again, thanks for your suggestion and your enthusiasm for Cold Steel.

Cold Steel, Inc.

I'd do the job for free.

They should make a spartan with a variety of blade styles like the recon 1. Tanto's,clip points, and kopis.

I could baton the piss and everything else out of this knife and then make lunch with it. Bet it would be a good soldier's knife. Rock ON.

I'd like to see a drop point version with a long as possible straight blade edge like a Lone Wolf T3 and maybe some stippling on the handle, maybe.

Just curious, what suggestions did you make to them, CM?

Tanto regrind by TheCarbideRat. All contact surfaces - blade/pivot/liners are polished. Blade is polished. Screws are spun polished. Custom fit grip job. Pocket clip stripped and polished. Sap lanyard. Choil cut.

A drop point etc. would be more popular and more likely to be adopted by CS if they did really think about going for it and I bet it would sell. Don't sell short get a nut from them. ;)

If I was a buyer i would get both tanto and drop point [and G10 scales of course ;)]

And by the way feel free to use the pics I sent you of your knife [and the ones of my Spartan tanto].
Bear in mind mine @3.6" blade length is street legal in many more states than yours.

and btw :p, LOL.

Yuppie? MMA fighter? Redneck? Student? Housewife? Banker? SEAL team member? Inquiring minds want to know but since there is nothing but silence i guess you are NOT MUCH.

EDIT: by way of explanation: if one introduces a word like ninja into the discussion it can give some random guest from the web the wrong impression, making things worse for knife owners and potentially feeding into anti-knife laws. Sure, it's fun to talk it up about ninjas and sentry de-animation but can we do it and make these references in the non-guest sub-forums only?

I talked about this possibly being a soldier's knife, and it could really give Benchmade / Emerson / Strider a run for their money BUT and i extrapolate that 99% of our servicemen will tell you the same thing - they use their blades virtually only as tools, so no, I was not introducing a weapon aspect. Leave the weapon to the weapon forum, wherever that may be.

that is very very nice, did you change out the pocket clip on that spartan mod? my spartans clip is just blank / no cold steel

I think he is just a weak( but more expensive) folder owner and it get's catty about the strength of the spartan. Real female like if you ask me.

Hmm, I must be missing something. What's wrong with ninjas? Mall ninjas, sure, I can see that being derogatory. Ninjas though, are awesome. Just ask Ryu Hayabusa, the World's Greatest Super Ninja. On a slightly more serious note, my nickname is almost always Ninja <insert my actual name here>, and I'm pretty sure it's meant to be complimentary. I don't know if they'd go for that mod to the Spartan. The whole reason the blade is shaped like that is so that it can be marketed AS a spartan, viz 300, I'd bet, and another Tanto with a funky handle just strikes me as...boring. Too boring for Cold Steel. I could totally be wrong though.

I got some spare clips from MORIMOTOM. I don't know which model they came from.
