I work as a project manager for a construction company in Denver and have two projects going on in Golden, Colorado. In between two meetings this morning, I took some time to swing by the Spyderco factory (I usually visit it every other month or so) to browse through some knives and handle a few. While I was there trying to decide whether I prefer the Vallotton or the Navaja, a gal named Linette (Lynette?) showed up to the outlet area with the announcement to another coworker, "A few Dominoes have just come in - here's the first one."
Unable to resist, I chimed in, exclaiming, "You guys are starting to get some Dominoes? I've been super excited for that knife."
"Oh yeah?" she stated, "Take a look."
Thrilled to get a chance to take a look at it, I gladly accepted the offer and began fondling and flipping it - and I've got to tell you guys, it's fantastic! The knife flips easily, the lockup is superb, there's no stickiness to the lock, and it feels great in-hand. The handle material looks fantastic, as well! I handed the knife back to her and we chatted for a bit about flipping technique, steels and a few different Spyderco models before I had to leave for my next meeting.
Needless to say, I'll be getting one as soon as they come out. I've been to the factory about a dozen times and at each visit all of the employees have been very engaging and helpful. They've always been willing to indulge me as I ask to handle a dozen or more models and browse through the factory and I've never had anything but a great experience.
If anyone from Spyderco sees this, tell Linette she has a big fan!
