Got to Play with a Domino Today!

That's Eric Glesser presenting and the Domino is his design. This was probably at an event like SHOT where he presents new blades all day long, I'm sure it was just an honest mistake unless he really meant it and the production version will be 2 way only.

As a right-hander, I'm being selfish to say, but I'd rather them not have those holes on the scale side.

I'm ambidextrous but I prefer to carry my knives on the right. When I make scales for them I rarely make holes for left carry

And the Southard was the first spyderco flipper. Here some scales I made for mine :) can't wait to make some for my domino when I get it. That and the zt0566

I really can't wait for this to come out. I wasn't too excited about the first flipper that they come out with, but this one got my attention.

I think the Domino is going to be a big hit. I hope I have some extra money laying around when it comes out!

When i saw the first pic i thought that looks awesome, but its going to be expensive with those carbon fibre scales. But $210 doesn't sound too bad

Very nice. I have a Southard and it's currently my favorite knife. Just exceptional quality. (I also have a ZT 566 on order, and a Karahawk.)

Yea if this is basically a ball bearing titanium frame flipper...WITH a steel insert Manix 2...im definitely in.....then it will be hard to pick what to carry...Southard, ZT560, Domino, and the 566 when it comes....decisions decisions...but I'm thankful I'm fortunate enough that I can make those decisions :) and I'm not stuck with some garbage gas station knife.

I picked it up and handled it quite a bit at the Blade Show. It was somewhere between the Manix and Native in size, but felt *much* more compact in hand than the Manix. The ergonomics struck me - it had that "melt into your hand" feeling that I haven't gotten since I first handled the Sage 1.

I predict that this one will be a winner!

You do know this is not the first Spyderco flipper, right? I can't wait for my second Spyderco flipper!

Yea, I knew that, I just had a bad brain fart for some reason. Never could warm up to the southard.

Honestly, if it was about a $100 knife and had the fit and finish and materials to allow it to be that cheap, it would not be a favorite of mine. Its smoothness, the blade steel, and the coolness of it being the first flipper from Spyderco make it awesome. Its ergonomics for me are beat out by a number of other Spyderco's, and the thick blade is not very desiarable. The clip had to go as well. I would not trade it or sell it though, and it does get used (not babied either) and carried. I think I will like the Domino more so long as I like XHP.

The biggest hurdle for me was the price and then the pocket clip. Now that I have it it's growing my me very quickly. I really like it. I still hate the pocket clip but I sanded it and rounded it out so I like it better. I don't know why they put the weird angle on it where your pocket material sits on. The weird hole pattern makes it difficult to swap it out. It's not as smooth as my 560 but I still like it.
I will probably buy a second one and for sure buying a DOMINO

Looking forward to the Domino falling into retailers, a flipper with ffg, leaf shape
blade and more compact than the Manix...very promising, indeed.
