Got to play with my Basic 11 today, I'm happy.

A little question for you 230: where would that blade fit in for someone with a NMFBM ?

It replaced my NMFBM.

The NMFBM is a beast of a chopper. The problem is, it's not nearly as comfortable as the Basic 11.

I'm not out chopping down redwoods with a knife, for the kind of chopping I need a knife for, the b11 is perfect for me. It's easy to pack as I hike many miles every week and can IMO chop right alongside the cgfbm which many believe to be their favorite chopper.

They're very different blades, but unless I was chopping down a giant house sized tree, i'd reach for the b11, but in any case I'd grab a chainsaw.

She served me well tonight, now she needs her sleep.

Sounds just right. If you're going to carry it, the B11 is much more practical. If you can keep it at hand in a vehicle or by any other means, the NMFBM is the superior chopper.

Thank you for the video's and the review, 230gr. -- good stuff!

I was going to strip it, but it seems to be satin finishing itself all on its own. :D

It's looking just fine to me. :D

Makes me want to go out and beat mine some more. :D

I was going to use it some today, but it was so hot here and humid that I figured I would wait. I trimmed the hedges this morning though before it got too hot.

From what is exposed so far, I can tell this is going to look nice stripped.

I am just gonna beat the coating off mine over time. :D

With that Black Crinkle coating it won't take too long either. LOL :)

. I'm already considering stripping it.

C'mon, do it! You know you want to1 :D

Good demos...got a big campin trip in Shasta coming up...with my b11, gonna make a fire so big you will be able to see me from space :) Between the DF, BWM and the B11 we will be making some nice wood stacks.

pffft...you don't need a big fire. "They" can see you just fine right now.

Nice videos and pics Mike, I've got some choppers but your making me want a B-11 now. :( Thanks

Thanks for the videos and write-up, 230grains. I'm still sitting on the fence with this one. I've got a NMFBM, a BWM, and used to have DF and DFLE.

Maybe...
