Through the kindness of Bram Frank and George Denson I was given a pass to attend the show. OMFG!!!!! I have never seen so many guns, knives, tactical equipment, clothing, outdoor equiupment ever. Made my way through as much as I could but it really does take more then a day to see everything and even when I got home I was kicking myself in the head for booths I completely forgot about until after. Oh well, I'll see if I can make it back tomorrow.
Got to hold the new Spyderco P'kal and Captain. The P'kal is definitly a SD knife and only feels really comfortable in the P'kal grip. The Captain felt like a great all around knife and was smaller then I thought. Saw the bi-fold but didn't try it out.
Went to Boker and took a look at the CLB Trance. One of the reps of Boker said that it is already available to purchase in the US so I'll be looking out for one. CLB also has another style of knife in the works. I won't be the one to leak the cat out of the bag so you'll all just have to wait.
Went on to Benchmade to check out the HK14440 Ally great looking knife and has a nice feel to it as well. Told the rep that it would be a lot more practical if the lanyard hole could be reworked to be a carabiner clip as well. He liked my idea so we'll see
On to Blackhawk and who was there but non other then Mr. Michael Janich demoing his Janich-Song. Pretty interesting knife but not for me.
The hi-lite of the show for me? Walked over to the Strider booth and what luck I saw Bram there and who was he talking to but non other then Mr. Richard Marcinko. He gave Dick a USMC LLC and was showing him how to use it. Dick looked impressed and gave him back an autographed poster. Not a bad exchage and I managed to get one myself. Oh also managed to pick up a Strider PT!!!!!! All in all I can say it was a great day. Thanks again Bram and George.
