Gotta good one! Lubing stubborn knives!

Go easy on using White Lightning.
I have had bad results in using it on the pivots.
It leaves a wax and this in effect tightens the pivot action and stooped my 'speed safe' assisted opening from working at all.

Militec for pivots works well for me.

The smoothest opening folder I have encountered is a CRKT crawford kasper fighting knife folder. I have no lube in mine and it opens like butter.

I hardly ever take a knife apart. I usually spray it with the White Lightning spray cleaner (comes in a kit with the lube) which is a rather good product for cleaning gunk out of your knife.

There are TONS of degreasers that'll totally nix the lubricant already in a knife. I use film cleaner at work and it'll dry a knife to the bone instantly.

I tend to use BreakFree most often for lubing because it's one of those does-everything products for my guns and knives and comes in big bottles, sprays, etc.

Actually, I really LOVE RemOil, but I'm rather allergic to it. If I get more than a drop or two on my skin I get wheezy and short of breath.
