GPKnives: What does this mean?

Effective 04/14/06 - All concerns related to manufacturing quality must be made in advance through our comments field during ordering. This includes, but is not limited to; blade centering, liners, sharpness and lockup. This is to ensure the customer is happy with the quality of the knife prior to shipment, as everyone has different standards. Should your concerns not be addressed in the comments field we will gladly assist you in gathering the necessary information to contact the manufacturer.

So what, I have to tell them in the comments that I want a knife that is sharp, has no blade play, and a centered blade? I'm not sure what they mean by this.
 
It means if blade centering is a deal breaker for you, you should ask first before pulling the trigger.
 
Yeah, so does that mean that they'd hand check it or something? So if I say I want all those things because I'm very picky, will they "test" it to make sure it's up to snuff?

EDIT: Oh, maybe they mean the overall info on the company's manufacturing process? Like asking if Benchmade has a history of uncentered blades and being dull out of the box (not that they do)?
 
They mean they can't check every knife for every factor that might concern a given customer. As robertmegar said, if there's anything that's a deal-breaker, tell them and they'll check it out. If you don't tell them, and don't like the condition of the knife, they'll guide you to settling the problem with the manufacturer.

I would bet if you get a knife that is flat-out disfunctional, they will take that back without hassling you. But if you really want to know what their policy means, asking them is a better way to find out than asking us. :)
 
My guess would be it's a form of saying, "we aren't the warranty dept. for knife companies".

But again, asking them about it would most likely get an answer, then asking here.

I see, more along the lines of what I was originally thinking.

I would ask them, but as of now they haven't emailed me back from Saturday yet so I still can't even order my knife. Today is technically the 2nd day because they start their week on Tuesday, so I'll give them some more time. I was hoping to have my knife by the weekend but now that won't happen :(
