GPS units

My old Garmin 12XL was a very good unit but it finally died last hunting season. I picked up a 76CSx about a year and a half ago and like it on the boat. The Blue Charts are pretty good, I don't know what the Garmin Topographic maps are like though, I don't really need them as I always have charts and topo maps with me but it's a nice back up.

You can make your own topo maps for a garmin if you want.
There are a couple of websites that tell you how
I've got a topo map of all of canada that I downloaded, it is a perfectly legal map based on free to use government maps.
My brother has a magellan triton with their 2008 topo map loaded on and my free version seems to be just as accurate
