GPS - What do I get?

i own a Garmin V and that little booger is great, car, hiking ,atv, boat, whatever, i know she is getting dated but the Garmin V is so good i just can't get rid of her or trade it in for a newer model...i gave $400 for it back in the day and now they can be had for $120-150 used and Garmin still supports the unit and loads of options for this lil' GPS , i may buy a second...

My first one was a Magellan. When it stopped acquiring satellites, I bought an etrex then called Magellan customer service to see what could be done with theirs. The rep referred me to their site for trouble shooting (which I already read and tried) then put me on hold but never came back. I tried again and was told, by a different guy, the model was obsolete and no service of any kind was available. His advice was "Just buy a new one". I asked about a reference to a trade-in service on their site and he said "You can try". I gave up. The etrex is exactly what I need and works great. I've tried to "fool" it by missing waypoints and intentionally not following the Go To, but it clearly corrects me. It's goof proof for me.:)ss.

Garmin and only Garmin.

Customer service, R&D and softwear compatability they lead the way.

People show up to join SAR with all kinds of crap and we tell em go out and buy a Garmin.

For what its worth.
