I love! GPS but never ever do I allow anyone to use electronic compasses for bearings and never do I send teams or lead teams without a hard copy map. GPS is electronic and it will fail, when? Who knows but it will eventually, Murphy is a bastard.
Besides M&C skills should be used whenever possible as it keeps you current.
