Which are the "best", most critical items needed in the event of a natural disaster, SHTF scenario, zombie apocolypse, etc? We at deltaoutdoorsman.com have put together a collection of setups in a backpack or sling pack that can help you "survive" a 72hr. scenario where major civic services are disrupted and where you could possibility be fending for yourself until aid arrives. This is not a complete setup in the sense that what is included here is all you need. Far from it, I think the general consensus is that each "SHTF/Bug Out Bag" should be customized by each owner based on their geographic location, most likely situation, etc. This pack & included gear covers your basic necessities of light, shelter, fire starting ability, first aid, and water purification. From there, you can add what you consider other necessities.
We started putting together this kit together with the thought that some people just want the basic survival & first aid items BUT need it in a larger capacity pack. Larger capacity usually translates into more expensive when it comes to packs. The Fox Tactical Advanced HydroAssault Pack, however, is the exception to this rule. This pack is quite durable in construction and offers substantially more capacity than other compact assault packs on the market. The layout includes a hydration bladder pocket within the main compartment and a front zipper pocket large enough for a tablet device, etc. There are numerous molle webbing attachments that allow the addition of modular pouches, etc. Bottom line, this pack incorporates numerous design features that lend itself well to Bug Out applications. Here is a punch list of features:
dual strap backpack design, padded & fully adjustable;
segmented layout with numerous molle webbing points for you to add accessories, pouches, etc.;
lightweight design that can be adjusted to fit a man, woman or child;
durable zippers & material that resists well the hazards of being thrown in & out of vehicles, bounced around in on an ATV, and water resistant in damp weather (note: NOT water proof, you'll need to cover it in a downpour);
Here is what is included for Grab & Go SHTF / Bug Out Bag setup:
1: Fox Tactical Advanced HydroAssault Backpack in O.D or Coyote;
1: 2.5 Liter Hydration Bladder;
