Grace Horne Pruner

The blade was one of a box of random old blades that I was given by Stan Shaw when I moved to Sheffield seventeen years ago to pursuade him to take me on as a part-time apprentice. Because of his circumstances, he couldn't take me on...but gave me these blades and told me that I should be able to use them to figure it out by myself.

Even then I knew that the lovely little handforged 100 year blades were too nice to practice on so it's taken me this long to start using them in my knives.:D

Cool story about the knife.

Grace.
It must have been quite an honour to meet and go on to dicuss things like employment with Stan, I am on the other side of the world...and when reading about people like yourself and Mick etc meeting people like Stan....its quite amazing!
And then...to be given some blades of that quality by the man himself...wow.
I think I can safely say that we think your work is stunning, and that you have already proven yourself as a high end maker, so congratulations on fulfilling your dreams
That maker mark of yours just finishes your stunning work with finesse.

Hi Grace, nice to see you here too. :)
That pruner is still my favourite of what I think of as your traditional style. Sadly unlike S-K, I'm still saving up for one of your creations. :(

All the best
Matt

P.S: Got any Guiness & Chocolate cake? ;) (Thanks again for the recipe!)
