I am looking for suggestions for a folder for my nephews graduation. He has a SAK and a Leaterman Micra. He will be attending UT Austin so it need to be Shepple friendly. I want to spend $ 30 to 60.
Case knifes make great gifts. Very "sheeple" friendly.
Also, check with Roger at Bayou Lafourche Knifeworks for these items and others. Check his Mother of Pearl Case knives too. All Case MOP knives come in a crushed velvet box. Very nice for a gift.
i was taking a look over at bayou laforche the other day, noting the great prices.i got two opinels (impulse buy)
not the best or most expensive knives, but what can i say?
Get him a pioneer II from www.1sks.com while they're on sale. It's an excellent knife for the money. It's bullet proof! The edc that was mentioned is a great knife also. Both are very stout little folders that will last him a long time.
Bob41081 -- My suggestion is less than your lower figure, but a fine "uncleish" gesture. I recommend you quickly -- I can't believe they still have some in stock, but they do -- order matching CRKT Mirages from Smoky Mountain Knife Works. They still have both the large and medium plain blade knives in stock -- for $10 bucks apiece. They're a good-looking, competent knife, and the versatility of having the 2 sizes would be really handy for you nephew.
I perchance you decide to accept my suggestion, you can mail me the $10 you saved. Or $40, if you really want to.
I also always recommend the larger CRKT LUS. Great knife, under $30. Tho I've not gotten mine yet, the Spyderco Spydercard has a lot of WOW! value, and can be suitably engraved.
