This is my new design.
Small, personal hawk, made up especially for close combat. It wont chop your firewood, or make you a canoe. But will slash, stab, chop and rake "badguy" and penetrate car hoods and similar materials with ease.
Angled cutting edge concentrates impact power in single point when "chopping" and offers longer cutting edge with multiple slashing moves.
Handle offers multiple gripping options, and whole hawk is small enough to fit on front of tactical vest, or under armpit.

Thickness - 5/16 inch

Blade length - 2 1/2 inch
Weight - 17oz.
Technology.
Single piece 40hnma steel.
40 HNMA is a aerospace grade steel, equivalent to 4340 according to AMS-6359 standard.
When comparing with AISI4340, 40hnma has lower amount of
sulphur - 0,030%
phosphorus - 0,030%
it gives the steel even better impact resistance.
But why we use 4340?
According to "Manufacturing technology for aerospace structural materials"
"The 4340 is the benchmark by which other high strength steels are judged. It combines deep hardenability with high strength, ductility, and toughness.
It combines deep hardenability, high strength, ductility, toughness. It also has good fatigue and creep resistance"
It can be harder, tougher and much more fatigue crack resistant than 4140.
Heat treatment
We used uniform multistep heat treatment.
Normalising
two grain refinement cycles,
quenching cycle
tempering cycle
Hawks are tempered to 51-53 hrc.
Surface finish is black oxide. Hawks are prepared for handle mounting. I can send you proper hardware - and holes placement blueprint if you want to make handle slabs yourself.
Warranty
Satisfaction guarantee after purchase and unlimited lifetime warranty against breakage and bending.
Hawks are being offered with kydex sheath with rubber retention and tek-lok mounting with proper hardware.
