Graham forge - prototype

Latest prototype of the Graham forge. $400 includes shipping, burner, and sample piece of 1080 steel.

Includes thicker, 1.75" thick insulating firebrick walls. This is the latest square design 100K forge. New, single piece front design is a fully removable front plate for easier brick replacement.

I have 1 in stock, and should have another one finished next week.

We measured it at 2300° front and 2100° rear after 1 hour, not sure what Stacy measured in his testing. Thanks, the new versions are even better but I don't have pics yet.

This forge sold in about 17 minutes after posting!!! Bladeforums is awesome!
 
I'm interested in one of your forges. Are you going to post on here or do you send out emails?
 
check his webstore, I have two of his miniforge's and they are great.

What size knives do you make?
I'm curious if I would need a graham forge to do kitchen knives or if a mini forge would handle them.
 
if you are doing cleavers or wider than 2 inch knives I would go with the graham. the mini does very well on most bowie styles. I know one maker was using the mini for swords, it has a rear pass thru, I am working on a tru flat grind searles style bowie I forged and hardened in the mini. blade was 1 1/2 wide and 13 3/4 inches long. I brought it up with the tip out the pass thru and moved the knife in and out till it was ready to forge and then heat treat. I think the opening is 2 1/2 x a little over 11. monitor it carefully it gets hot quick, in about 10 minutes or so I can forge a railroad spike into a blade and that's from a cold start.

I have a couple questions:

1. Forgive my ig'nance, but what's a graham forge? :confused:

2. Do you make those in double-length? :D
