Graham Knives Mid Tech Razel Review

Lovely photochop....

I've had the Graham Razel SS3 about two weeks now....

I carry the SS3 in my left front pocket, weak side, cause I have a cane in my right hand.
This is a pic of the draw from the left pocket. Blade is canted a bit to remove reflection. But I think these show what you want...

Excellent, thanks!

It looks like the edge-side bump would be mostly what kept the finger "on", and the pommel-side bump wouldn't need to be very big.

Of course, I could just go with a normal handle, eh?

I don't think your idea of the pommel is a good one cause the points of the pommel will dig into your palm like a fork.
tHO GRIP RETENTION WILL BE GOOD :)

Someone asked how the chisel front with the double grind works for me.
Kevin replaced a sink today and I scraped off all the old silicone stuff with the SS3.
It works great with the super sharp chisel edge that's vee ground

Ok, after reading the posts on the Razel I had to try one. I am a remodel contractor and get into all sorts of jobs. I picked up a green canvas one, to get a little better grip, then the G10. It clipped very nicely into the ruler pocket in my overalls. The draw and clipping in are excellent. This morning it cut through the expanding foam around a window and door, cut up insulation for around the tub, sliced open 15 boxes of blinds (alot of plastic wrapping and tape), and kept on going. What I did not like was the length to the handle until I added a lanyard, my little finger did not have a place to go and I was concerned about control. After adding the lanyard it was very easy to draw and replace. Great knife for the work I do. Now the question, how will it hold up and how easy will it be to keep sharp? Have edge pro apex. BTW. my usual EDC was a BM 910 or 905. ;) Thank you Jon and Josh for this design.

woodysone, you are welcome, We are glad to know you like it.
As for sharpening it, the apex will work for the primary edge, but you
have to be careful not to round off the lower point. Sharpen it like you would
a wharncliffe. I dont think it will work for the front edge, you'll probably
have to use a stone, and sharpen it like a chisel.
Hope this help's.

I just successfully used the mid-tech Razel to dig a rather large splinter out of the soul of my right foot. The tip was both pointy and sharp enough to get that rather delicate task accomplished.

One of the days I'll actually use the Razel for opening a box.

I currently carry the folding/micarta version put out by crkt and I am beyond impressed with the build... it may be a bit too big for a usual edc for some guys but I happen to love an oversized carry. In addition, the secondary locking system is absolutely beautiful. I can't praise this design enough, they seriously hit it out of the park with this one. I'm happy with it to the point that it's replaced my fully size sebenza!! The razel, backed up with an emerson/kershaw cqc 4 is the way to go for me. Congrats on your score man, that's a great looking Razel.
