A grail of mine has popped up for sale and I don't have the funds. So I'm putting this special one-off Mosier flipper up for as long as the grail remains unsold. If the grail knife gets sold, I'll withdraw this one - you know David's books are now closed.
SOme background - This is a mid-sized backlash with a 3.5" S30V blade (or S35V, I can't quite recall), flips with zero effort and super fast too, thanks to the IKBS and detent that's been dialed in just nice. The ergos are unmatched...this one features contoured carbon fibre scales, has sets of 2 thumb grooves for both normal filipino grip as well as for choking up (my input). The liners are thick and anodized the same colour as the deep carry clip. In addition, traction milling grooves (I believe these were hand milled) are placed at the bottom end of the handles. When you hold this folder, it's like it's moulded to your hand, no BS - I call it my folding maddog knife (you can see some influence in the silhouette). Fit and finish is impeccable - centered blade, zeroplay, smooth opening/closing, razor sharp edge. This knife is a hand-made knife, you can tell it's not coming out of some cookie cutter waterjet/CNC machine.
I never thought I'd sell this, but I've been eye-ing that grail, and I have to make some sacrifices if I'm going to have a fighting chance.
I need $2000 nett to me, via paypal, if I'm to have a shot at my grail.
