Ladies and gentlemen, I wanted to formally thank a very special person here in Blade Forums; however, I don't want this to just seem like any other old thank you.
The background:
This place has been a wealth of knowledge, as well as as sanctuary for me when things get rough. I was humbled by Charlie's knife, the TC spear point Barlow, and when I first laid eyes on it I knew I had to have one. When I saw it I knew it was the "one," however I missed the boat and they were all sold out. For more than six months, I diligently searched for one with no success, until i sourced one a couple weeks back. But as luck would have it, my monetary situation would'nt permit me acquiring it. Having looked for so long and knowing it would be gone fast, I realized the best thing to do was to let someone deserving have it. I sent all the pertinent information to my friend so he could buy it. I knew he has a great reverence for knives so it was very comforting to know my quest was not a loss because the knife would be going to a great home. He actually said he would buy it and keep it pristine for me until I got the funds. It was a generous gesture on his behalf but I didn't want to burden him with such a task; it seemed unfair, so told him the knife was all his.
Three days later I open the mail and see an envelope. Inside was a tube. On the tube was written "Andre," my name. Inside the tube was a piece of black and silver gold. A brand new second-run spear point TC Barlow. Now folks, I am 26 years old and prior to that day I couldn't tell you the last time I had watery-salty discharge come from my eyes...
This is the most generous and surprising event of my life, and it wasn't from immediate family or relatives, but instead from our very own: Jon Slider. I wanted to sincerely acknowledge and thank you. Words cannot describe the emotion I'm feeling and I won't forget this til the day I die (the Barlow will be in my pocket then too). There is no way I could ever repay the joy, emotion, excitement and gratitude you have provided me, and I am eternally indebted to you. Thank you so much my friend.
The knife is, for lack of better words, perfect. The black-hole dark ebony handles are expertly shaped and hafted to the handle. Not a gap in sight. The blades are perfectly centered, satin-finished, and sharp out of the tube. The pulls on both blades are an upper 5, however, they have an authoritative walk and talk, with a prodigious snap from both half-stop to closed, and half-stop to open. The liners and bolsters are married together so perfectly, one would think they are a single piece. The knife is a perfect size for my hands, and warms up my pockets.

I still cannot believe this is happening, i have to keep reassuring myself, slipping my hand into my pocket to make sure its really there.
Jon, you are an amazing person, you went way out of your way to make this happen, i thank you with all my heart.
The people here are simply amazing.
