I've been on the hunt for one of these babies ever since I saw my first one. Fortune (and one of our wonderful members here) smiled upon me late Saturday night as I was browsing our exchange while rocking my daughter to sleep! A few quick PM's were exchanged and fast forward to today:

See that little annotation of EO?!?

Ahh, finally, my preciousssss! :D

Now, I just need to talk myself in to actually using this one, not just carrying it around like a trophy. Hmm. Well, if nothing else, maybe this will encourage me to work up the nerve to modify my existing 85 into an EO model...

Thanks for looking!

Superb! One of my favorite GEC blades and can't beat the coping! Hope you didn't wake your daughter with all the excitement!

So happy for you, Dan! It's always great when you finally secure a grail. Enjoy it however you see fit.

Great looking knife, what a beauty! Congrats on securing your grail, that's a good feeling!

It's a beautiful knife and great pattern, although you will be amazed how fast you will have new grail knife. Grail knife is a concept not real knife :D
Please use it they are made for it

Congratulations on the beautiful knife. You left out the part where the light shone down from the heavens and a choir of angels sang your daughter to sleep while the knife magically floated out of the computer screen and gently lit upon your outstretched fingers. That's how I pictured it anyways. I love the feeling you have immediately after obtaining a toy you've been coveting. Savor the flavor.

Congratz on finding you grail knife, Sir!

I found mine earlier this year - what a great knife I got there. So I know your feel.

That is one smooth looking knife; real classic beauty. But man, it would look pretty cool with a patina--I prefer the naturally occurring type that comes from regular use. So, I guess I am suggesting you take it up into your hands, enjoy it, and watch it acquire your personal stamp and history. Having about 10 (and counting) Gec's and 3 (and counting) children, I think my last suggestion can be taken as generally applicable friendly advice. But enough of that--congrats on a great knife and your good fortune finding it.

Wow, there's a lot to love about that one. Big fat spear blade, easy open, bottom bolsters, threading.

Nice!!!!

Verrrry nice, Dan! I think your daughter was the good luck charm there... Nice photos, but too pretty to carry for me ;)

Congrats, I know how you feel because I found the same SFO pattern in African Blackwood a few months ago. I'll bet it is even more perfect and beautiful in person but the pictures look very nice.

Nice! When are you planning on delivering it to Arthur so that he can restore England to glory?

I vote for carrying it and getting some patina on that blade. The ivory bone ages well after some pocket carry and looks great with a grey blade.

Nice catch, one of my favorite knives.
