Grail knives (I got mine..for now?)

As far as a grail slip joint, this is as close as I've owned thus far. Jerry Halfrich made this for me a couple of years ago. I've been fortunate to have owned several of Jerry's knives over the years, so had a good idea of what I wanted. Jerry's Baby Rounder pattern, CPM 154, jigged paper micarta. A touch over three inches closed, with a light pull by my request. The design of the Rounder series allows the blade to be easily plucked open.

Definitely found mine. Nothing like the feeling of finding that knife that perfectly fits all your wants and needs. I eased into mine, first with a spear point GEC #15 which taught me that I loved the 3.5" size and a spear blade, then I got a Ken Erickson micarta shadow spear point EDC pattern which improved on the #15 as far as feel and ergonomics for me. Finally I got a spear point EDC with bolsters and stag covers from Ken which I've discovered is my absolute ideal knife.

Still searching for mine...

My number one is a Case XX Slimline trapper with pearl handle (production was limited to 20 or so pieces)

2) Would be a Case XX Iv254D (Case trapper with ivory handles and damascus steel blades)

3) Would be a Case Tested 62009SP (Barlow pattern with master spey blade) discontinued after 1940 I believe.

I highly doubt I ever find any of them but that is what makes the search so much fun. I love stories of someone walking into an antique store or a flea market and walking out with their grail at a reasonable price.
