Grand Teton Trip (Pic Heavy)

Great pics! I did a week there last summer and recognize some of the trails you were on. I had a friend who commented about GTNP: "God must live at Jenny Lake" and I don't think I can argue with that sentiment.

Very nice bro! I'll be going there next week and camping too, and YS and devils tower, Mt Rushmore; any tips? What camera did you use and what were your best times of day for shooting the pictures? How where the crowds? sorry for all the questions :D

Don't feel bad about the questions, I did the same thing to the rest of the guys on the forum before I went on my trip.

The best advice I could give is be prepared for any weather. We ran into snow, rain, almost freezing temperatures, and temperatures close to 70 degrees.

I just used a simple Sony Cybershot 3.1 mega pixel camera. I didn't ever stick around waiting for the best shot. I just took them as I saw a good one along a hike, therefore, I am not sure about the best times. I would say a clear afternoon day would be good, or maybe a sunset. I am far from a professional photographer, just a beginning photographer. The beauty of the mountains make getting good pictures pretty easy.

The trails were never too crowded. We stayed off some of the main trails. I would recommended Jenny Lake trail. The trails thin out the steeper the trails are and the further you get from the parking lot. When I went the last week in June, some of the higher (in elevation) trails like up to amphitheter lake were still snow covered and would be difficult to manage without an ice ax. We had to turn around on that trail because we were worried about slipping down the steep sides. So if you plan to get high in the mountains you may need ice equipment, but check with the ranger stations before setting out.
