Grandpas Old Knife

I found this old knife when we were cleaning out my great grandparents house after we moved them in to assisted living. It says on one side Solingen Germany and the other Sabre Monarch. Im looking to get some information about this old knife any information would be great.
I know he served in many different places with multiple branches
