My grandfather is my hero. ... I have his paperwork from WWII and the hedgerows and the Ardennes (battle of the bulge) were very nasty battles with much of it in the woods.
Very cool. My grandfather also fought under Bradley in the Battle of the Bulge. He lost an arm there, his second and final Purple Heart medal. Because he had only one arm, he never carried a pocketknife when I was growing up. But we did talk knives a lot and he had a number of fixed blades that I now have. He once described for me the pocketknife he carried in the war: A two-blade jack. Said he used to keep it sharp by honing it on his boot leather.
