Grandson Gift Knife

This knife was ordered by a local customer. He wanted three knives, one for each of his grown up grandsons. He wanted all three in desert ironwood and stainless. This is the first one delivered. He made it clear that this grandson was a big fella with large hands, and he wanted a bit more meat in the handle. The scales are thicker than usual, and the knife is just about 1/4" longer in handle than I typically make this model. It doesn't seem like much of a difference, but this one does fill the hand.

The blade is CPM154, plate quenched and LN cryo'd with the future owner's initials on the reverse side, and the handle is desert ironwood scales with black vulcanized spacers, mosaic pin, and stainless tubing. The sheath was also made in shop with handy spring clip for easy and secure EDC carry:
