Gransfors Bruks Info?

Can anyone tell me anything about this axe head? It has the GB stamp and the other side is stamped 2 1/4lbs.

I'd like to get a handle for it and have someone recontour the edge since it looks like someone took a grinder to it.

Poke around in this forum and you will find how-to threads on this. Most guys do it themselves The amount of time required to to do it would cost a chunk if paying someone. You can thin it with a file or power sander. I would not use a round wheel grind though. you'll like wind up with an irregular mess. handles: most hardware store carry handles but they tend to be lower end. you can mail order better ones from places like omahaknife.com who carries a lot of handles including Gransfors handles
 
Thanks for the advice, I'm guessing this is like the forest axe? Maybe something with a 28" handle would work.
