This is a custom, hand made E.T. (External Toggle) knife by Grant and Gavin Hawk of Idaho City, Idaho. It has never been used, carried or sharpened. It is in MINT CONDITION. Each E.T. custom is marked with a serial number. This knife is #21. It locks up rock solid due to the locking mechanism, and the blade falls dead center in the frame when closed.

The 3.125 inch blade is CPM S30V stainless steel heat treated by Chris Reeve, and the handle and toggle links are hard-anodized 7075 aircraft aluminum. The pocket clip and carabiner are titanium. Closed length is 5 inches. There is a roll lock along the spine that prevents the knife from accidentally opening while carried in a pocket or suspended by the carabiner.

BTTT - If you can find another one out on the Interweb it'll likely set you back at least $50 to $75 (plus shipping) more than my asking price...which also includes insured Priority shipping in the CONUS.

BTW - If you haven’t had the opportunity to open and close one of the custom ones, your in for a treat...the mechanism is addictive. For those not familiar with the knife, the E.T. or External Toggle, describes the folder's locking mechanism. It works on the same basic principle as a pair of pliers that lock. With the knife open, the three pivot points of the handle's long and short toggle come to rest slightly beyond and imaginary straight line drawn through them, thereby preventing the mechanism from feeding backward and the knife from closing. A light torsion spring positioned around the axis of the rear toggle propels the blade forward when opening and backward when closing. The blade's opening hole doubles as a carabiner, and a safety prevents accidental opening.

Resurrected from the depths of the forums!

I still have this beauty, and truly need to move it. Recent damage and flooding from the storms here in Chicago last week have necessitated putting this one back up to the top. I have a few other customs I will be posting in the coming weeks to help with the clean-up and repairs. In case you are wondering, none of my knives were effected by all the water.
