Grant & Gavin Hawk Knives - Review, Photo & Video

I really like some of the Hawk designs - unfortunately the closest I've come is my ZT0500 MUDD.

I really like the mechanics of the hawk brothers' designs. too bad they're a little out of my budget :D

I've been meaning to pick up a kershaw ram for a while, I think it just moved a bit higher up on my list.

You'll love the RAM. The flipper and Hawk lock are very nice. I have one and looking to buy another Kershaw version since I cannot find one of the originals. I just saw that LAPoliceGear has them for $49 + shipping, cheapest I've seen on these.

I picked up a few knives from Hawk. A RAM with polished blade, RAZR and a T.A.S.C FORCE prototype.

The Kershaw RAM has been one of my favorite flippers for quite some time now, but "the" RAM knife from Hawk is on a whole new level. Attention to fit and finish is impeccable. I only hope I can bear to keep using my Kershaw RAMS. :D

The RAZR - Rotate at Zero Resistance knife is of pretty much the same mechanical design as the RAM, but without the flipper. Both the RAM and the RAZR can be opened or closed by simply holding back on the spring loaded switch and letting gravity swing the blade into position. The blade will swing back and forth like a pendulum if you wish, they're so frictionless. Both the RAM and RAZR lock up solid and are perfectly seated and centered when closed.

The T.A.S.C FORCE Prototype is an automatic. Simple pull back on the handle switch and the blade flies out like it means business. It snaps open similar to Protech knives, but with a heavier, more solid feel. Again, lockup is tight with no wiggle in the blade.

The RAZR and T.A.S.C FORCE have spring clips while the RAM has two roller balls on the tip of the clip to aid in smooth attachment to a pocket.

All three knives are built to last and are flawless in fit and finish. Overall, these are some of the best designed knives I've seen.

Here is a picture, followed by a YouTube link (no critiques of my video skills) showing the knives in action.

Enjoy!
Shawn
