Here's a group shot I took of my Grant & Gavin Hawk knife collection. Included in one of every custom knife they've released to date.

Going up and down and left to right:
MUDD, TOAD, RAZR, SAM, RAM Gen II, ET, DOG, RAM Gen III, RAM Gen I, Pony, TASC, K-AT, K-AT spear point. The RAM Gen I, SAM and RAZR are all marked prototype.

Gal Leg = upper right corner handle looks similar to a old school ladie's boot

Jason

Yeah, that's the one I was referring to. Both names are listed on Grant and Gavin's website: http://www.g-hawkknives.com/page18.html

I really like their work, they are so innovative. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. Speaking of the Pony, I keep telling Gavin they need to bring it back again but with more modern materials. It just fits in the hand so well. I'd love to have one with G10 or Micarta handles and a Aluminum or Ti bolster.

Thanks,
-Troy

It's pretty sweet to see all those together like that. Hmm, i don't even have that good of a collection of our knives. . .lol

But, I do have a 'gal leg' :) My dad started making two fixed blades, one was the pony knife, and the other was a gal leg. The pony knife had a full tang with handle slabs. The gal leg was a hidden tang design with stacked horse hoof and a brass butt cap.

I have the pony knife #39 myself. It was left to me by my popa and i am trying to find out the story behind the knives and the value. If you could help me at all i would really appreciate it. thank you

Not to dig up an old thread, but I have a pony knife and a gal leg. Here is a picture of the gal leg for all that were asking about it.

Vege-taco, My dad has a Pony Knife as well, and I think he wants to sell it. If you are still interested, contact me and I will call him and find out for you.

I'll take it. :D

Seriously, if you ever want to sell the Gal Leg, look me up.

I just found and bought a Pony, so I've got that one covered. If you have time though, post a picture of it, you never know. It wouldn't be the only Hawk knife I have multiples of.

Couple more pics. Wondering if anyone has seen the card and instruction booklet that went with both the gal leg and the pony knife. Hope I am not hijacking this thread, my intention is to add to the post showing some of the older Grant and Gavin Hawk work.

Thanks for posting the pictures! I'd never seen the gal leg before. The name is quite appropriate. I think as newer knives come out, we should keep updating this thread. Unfortunately, I've had to sell some of my Grant & Gavin Hawk knife collection, so others will have to fill in as they pop up.
