Skeletonized tang and full-flat grind make this knife extra light in hand for its size with a nice, thin high-efficiency edge grind. Balances between forward bolt and front end of handle. CPM 3V blade, .21 thick at spine, professionally heat-treated by Peters to 60 HRC. Brand new, couple of light kydex marks on the bladesheath is a tight fit. Tek-loc included with the sheath as shown. NOW SOLD--Gerhard Wieland integral hunter in W1 steel with synthetic handle material Elforyn. Slightly convex blade grind to almost zero at the edge -- very high-performance cutting geometry. Blade length is 4 ¾ from the crest of the flared edge on the bolster to point, overall length 9 ¼, with top quality dark brown leather sheath by maker.
Elforyn is very durable and repels all types of fluid as well as being resistant to extreme temperature fluctuation. It is popular as a substitute for ivory on musical instruments in Europe, and has visual texture running through the grain but is smooth on the surfacea nice upscale change from micarta or G10.
