Grayman Dua vs Satu

So, Im stuck trying to choose between the Grayman knives Dua and the Satu, mainly because I'm worried about the weight while carrying. During the summer I wear gym shorts a lot (thanks louisiana) and I would like to know if anybody has experience with carrying a knife over 10 oz on a regular basis. Keep in mind the heaviest knife I've carried is a manix 2. And I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section, and if I am moderators please move it.
Thanks!:)

This is awesome! I was literally googling this today and could find nothing. I am very curious as well! Thanks for starting the thread!

I do not recommend the Satu with gym shorts, it's way too heavy, especially the full Ti. The Dua would be a far better choice weight wise (I have both). My Satu is always in the sheath that Grayman sells and if carried it goes on a 1.5" shooter's belt. Both are beasts of a knife but the Dua gets far more use particularly in heavy yard work, camp craft or rope work relegating the Satu to "man jewelry" status.

I love both of those...don't have either unfortunately. If you score one, please post a review!

That makes sense, I'm leaning towards the dua just for ease of carry and to not freak out co workers as I open my mail. :D

Does anyone have some comparison pictures with the satu/dua with other knives?

Quick & dirty phone pic; Satu, Dua, PM2, XM-18, Commander, Seb 25, Praetorian T, ZT0808.

Wow, that thing dwarfs the praetorian!
I wish Grayman made something in between the two

I was going to say the same thing about the Satu - man that things a beast! The blade is nice and thick too, so a well-proportioned design...just big!

Wow, I had no idea the Satu was that big.

Yes it is big but the action on them is so smooth and slick it's hard to believe. It is a very much under appreciated and under valued knife Imho.

It's a monster.

Agreed. I've been meaning to try and score another one since I traded mine a few years back.

Another size comparison. Satu vs Military.

Couple more comments; the Satu, even as big as it is feels great in hand with or without gloves (e.g. Mechanix light weight work gloves). Finally, Mike and Sue at Grayman are great people to deal with and I'm proud to support a homegrown American "mom & pop" business, especially since they produce a solid, no b.s. knife.

I haven't really carried a Satu, but I have handled them on multiple occasions and they're just comically large and heavy. The Dua, on the other hand, is a very manageable size and I recommend it fondly (I actually have one in my pocket as I type this).
