Just like the title states, I'm planning on finally pulling the trigger on a Grayman, most likely a mega pounder 9 w/ teeth and I'm hoping some of you out there have owned them in both single and double bevel style cuz I need to hear some feedback on the single most of all. Now I can't sharpen worth a damn so I think a single would be better for that aspect, plus it seems like a single bevel would get really sharp but what are the drawbacks of it? I have never had a knife with a 'chisle
grind so I need all the info I can get. And if there is anyone who has owned or used one of each I would really love to hear from you.

I own both Graymans! While I do like the double bevel the single IMO would definitely be easier for the average joe to sharpen like you had talked about. I would say the single bevel is also better for chopping and slicing. I cant think of any drawbacks of a single bevel or a "chisel grind." Check out the Graymans videos they have on their site and maybe shoot them an email and ask them for advice on what they d recommend for what your intended use will be! You will find they are wonderful people! Cheers!!

The only real issue with chisel grinds is that they don't slice precisely straight, which has never presented itself as a problem with my Emersons.

I like chisel grinds, but prefer it to be on the "right hand side" I have both, but since I usually cut righthanded it is easier for me
