Grayman knives VS. TSF knives

I have both, they are both nice knives, very tough, well made well constructed. Both are a good value if you can find them on the secondary market. i "stole" a beast folder in the exchange for 185.00.now that is a deal !

Cant go wrong with all mentioned. However I have yet to find a knife as tough as nails than a Grayman! Both Strider and TSF make a great product but Grayman just stands out in the crowd! And I went on a mission to find the toughest knife out there! Most likely you ll be happy with whatever you choose but if you want a knife that ll survive a nuclear explosion, GRAYMAN! Check out my posts and reviews on the Grayman Dua and Satu! Cheers!

I see. I would've figured the TSF would be stronger. Do you mean with dual ti-sides or even with the G10?

Even with the g10, graymans are in a whole other league then strider, I've never handled a TSF so I have no comment, but the graymans, especially the satu, are just crazy tough, and open VERY smooth with the pivot bushing system.

There's no evidence as to which is stronger, but then again, it doesn't really matter unless you are going to abuse the knives to the point of destroying them. I can't imagine that you'd wish either was stronger than it is when using them, both are well-made. Pick the one you like best--I don't know about the Grayman, but you can order the TSF and return it within 10 days, no questions asked. So you get a free trial to decide.

I just ordered a Zero Tolerance 0300 and I am a bit surprised that no one has mentioned this knife as it might be a good one to add to this list. I looked at the Three Sisters knives and the Graymans and liked what I saw, but since I am not a soldier in theatre or a working police officer or fireman, or a hunter or survivalist, my knives are EDC for more common and mundane uses. I do however like a beefy, sturdy larger folding knife even for everyday usage and the 0300 won my vote. I haven't been able to see a side by side comparison of any of these knives. It would be pretty cool if someone here could post a picture or supply a link to such a visual comparison. I think the 0300 which is a tank of a knife on it's own merits might look somewhat diminutive next to these 4" monsters. I just think that the 0300 might stay on my belt or in my pocket where the others might tend to find more time in my knife drawer at home.

I'm none of those things either--in fact, I'm a professor and my EDC has to fit that sort of environment. The TSF isn't a monster at all--3" blade and 7.25" overall makes it very easy to EDC. In fact, it may be easier on the pocket than the 0300, and it's likely lighter. But it's very sturdy and useful at the same time.

Hey DJK,
I was actually thinking of the Super Beast and the 4" Grayman. A better Zero Tolerance knife to compare to The Beast is the ZT 0350 which I have and like a lot.

Well, they aren't really the same kind of knives. The Grayman and 0300 are bulkier knives.

The TSF Beast is about the same size as a Small Sebbie, but it's bulkier and heavier. Of the 3, the TSF will definitely make the better EDC in terms of carry. It has a narrow handle and a nice deep carry pocket clip.

I will give it a ding for the sharp edges on the back of the handle. Sometimes I do scratch my hand while digging for my wallet. I suggest you tell Jim to smooth out the edges when you order for him, he will do it for you. Other than that, I'd much rather pocket a TSF than a Satu or 0300.

I just got an email today from Jim, my beast is finished! I will do a mini review and post some side by side pics early next week when I get it.

Not a straight trade--new SNGs go for a chunk more than used TSF Beasts. (S35V was two runs ago--the last two were CPM154CM and ELMAX.)

I'd prefer a superbeast and get the same etching on the handles and maybe a choil put in, but no one's offering. :P Also interested in a custom folder or Umnum but same deal.

Volundoftheforge-

You could probably sell the sng and have enough money to buy a brand new beast with money left over! The beast is currently being made in ELMAX, and you can get minor changes made to your specs and you are still looking at only 300.

I have a CCT and just ordered a Beast. James has always been great to deal with. I ordered a spear point blade in Elmax and based on the comments here asked him to smooth the edges. Guess I'll find out how tough it is. I intend to use it for SAR. 😊

Please post pictures--I need to see the spearpoint blade. I kept asking about different blade shapes and got no option...

However, the smoothed edges are excellent--I sent mine back to have them smoothed and they turned out great.
