This is the clip pointed Great Basin Bushcrafter model. I did a large handled version for a recent WS&S challenge, this is the smaller handled, more sane variant.
As with many period expansion and english working knives, this features a dropped edge blade, in this case with a straight, squared, angled spine and my drilling tip angle. A slight thumbramp with light filework and a full blade width guard section at the ricasso help with the grip safety and options.
Overall this is 8 3/4 inches long, with a 4 1/2 inch blade. Steel is 1080, full quench and temper, then a differential temper on the spine, with a bright forge finish. Grind is a convexed scandi, easy to maintain with a strop. This particular steel and grind are very easy to maintain in the field with a hard backed strop and some compound, and edge retention is very good for most tasks and the convex eases a lot of edge wear on many types of cuts.
Scales are ipe, with a gentle hourglass shape. Pins are stainless tubing, 1/4 inch OD for fore or aft lanyard mounting.
Sheath is a Koyote Girl made Explorer model, set up for vertical carry with the adjustable belt hanger. Blet hanger may be removed for horizontal or strap mounting.
Asking $180 SOLD
Thanks for looking and here's the looking at part:
