great Binocular for Outdoor

For a $1000 you could probably hire someone to run up ahead and come back and tell you what they saw. That dollar amount seems a bit much for anyone but a tactical professional. But, I could be wrong.

A man I know spent $1200 on a Leica binocular. This was when $1200 was a lot of money. I asked why he spent so much. He said that he couldn't afford a Rolls Royce, but he could afford the
Rolls Royce of binoculars. Why buy an Accuracy International sniper rifle when for 1/4 of the price you can get a Remington or Savage that is just as accurate? People tend to buy what they
like if they can afford it even if they have no use for the items capabilities. I see it every day in my business.

I'm a couple years behind the times on binoculars, but looking at what's available now, I'd check out the Vortex Viper HD that Uffda already mentioned. They appear to have a more robust construction, and features equivalent to the earlier Stokes DLS model, which has outstanding optics. I have the DLS 10x42, and like it even better than the 8x32 Pentax DCF ED(which is what the Viper really resembles physically) or 10x42 Meopta Meostar that I've owned both of. None of them are a Swarovski, and each has some things that make it better in some respects than the others, but any of those models are getting close to "as good as it gets" without spending the big bucks, IMO. For general use, I'd rather have the 8x32. I rarely need more magnification, and even a 42mm objective makes for a significantly bulker bin than a 32mm one does. Meopta has some 8x32s that people went wild over, and got favorably compared to the Swarovski EL. People tend to exaggerate a lot, but Meoptas are really nice, and those are probably well worth a look, too.
