I purchased a 15" Sirupati(Shop 2 model) a few months back. Unfortunately the tip broke yesterday while I was clearing some brush from my backyard.

I E-mailed Bill and let him know. Before long he E-mailed me back saying that a new one was on it's way to me and to just send the old one back. We had some more messages going back and forth so fast that it seemed like an instant messager going on.
Bill is The Man!

How can you go wrong buying a HI Khukuri!
No worries.

I have had a 15" Ang Khola (Shop 1) for over a year, and no problem except for a loose butt cap which was an easy epoxy fix.

I found that my Shop 1 Khukuri had a better fit and finish than my Shop 2. And I really like the feel of the 15" AK.
The Ang Khola is by far my favorite.

My 2 cents
Get a HI Khukuri !

Gregory, without a doubt, Uncle Bill's way of doing business is the reason why HI is so successful. I became a khuk knut only because of Uncle Bill. Prior to discovering HI, I had no particular interest in knives whatsoever, but I had been doing some web-surfing for background info on the Gurkha soldiers servig in Indonesia (for an article I was working on) and I happened to stumble across the HI website. After checking out the site, I was really curious about khuks so I emailed Uncle Bill with a question or two. He emailed me back that he was sending me a khuk to check out -- if I liked it I could keep it and send him a check at my convenience, or if I didn't like it I could just return the knife. The rest is history, as they say. Now, I own several HI khuks and hope to own many more before it's over.

As you said, "Bill is The Man!"

I'll definitely third that sentiment! I have never dealt with another business that comes close to HI and Uncle Bill. The knives are great, the customer service is better, and we are helping the people of Nepal all at the same time. I'm in the same boat as Steven, not really a knife person. I just wanted something better than the Wal-Mart machetes that I'd been breaking... Uncle Bill and the HI Khuks have turned me into 'Knifeman' as my wife would say. Hardly a day goes by when I don't find some reason to fondle a Khuk (chopping, cleaning, sharpening, polishing, etc....). If the service received wasn't what it is, I wouldn't have any more than the first one purchased. I don't have a large collection, yet, but I'm on my way. Bill and HI are an A-1 outfit by any standard!

'He's losin' it... (Words spoken about me by a visitor seeing me with my Khuk!)
Lucky for them I'm not...

Himalayan Imports is the place for Khukuris! I love my Khukuris from Uncle Bill! Each day that passes, the Khukuris that I have grow in personality. They have a positive energy in them. I can't wait for my next Khukuri from Uncle Bill. Thanks Uncle for offering a superior Khukuri and a forum for us to share and learn new information.

Ditto!! Just got a new order from Uncle and as always cust. service was outstanding--got the knives(exactly what I asked for condition wise), and in only 2 days--to Hawaii. A pleasure as always!

In addition to the quality, service and value, what's stunning to a newcomer is the family atmosphere and trust.

I was surprised to find out I could go on a Sirupati waiting list without a deposit.

I was flabergasted to find out a 20" AK was sent out just on my word that I would send a personal check.

This place, product and the people behind it are rare in more ways than one.

Thanks
Jim

For about six weeks, the only service forumites will have is each other. But that's because Bill's going to be hard at work ( ? ) making things even better for us once he gets back.

Until he's back, should any problem happen, we can relax knowing for a certainty Bill always has done all he can to make things right. And will resume doing so on his return.

Your lifetime or his. And I hope he's figuring out how to make sure HI continues from Pala to Gelbu and from Bill to ? when the time comes.

Ma'am, I DID NOT call you an unfit mother.
The judge did that in this court order.

YES! Sometimes I just can't believe it! Sometimes I just can't understand it! Sometimes I think that it is too good to be true! but ... it is the true things!

YES! PAKCIK BILL IS THE MAN!

NEPAL HO!

Thanks again for kind words.

We are all searching for a way to pass the torch. I am not planning to check out soon but life is an uncertainty.

And, I don't think it will be six weeks but more like the month of Feb. By the first week in March everything should be back to as normal as it gets.
