These were pre order only and will no longer be available. They were a one run deal. It was WAY too much trouble. Sorry. Mrs. S

A mistake was made on the shipping. Some may arrive postage due or be shipped back to me. All of the CONUS packages are in the mail. If you ordered more then one your order will be fine. It's the people who ordered one that I made a mistake on. I clicked the wrong option for shipping on the USPS website. If they arrive postage due you can pay it and contact me and I will refund you what you had to pay. If it gets sent back to me I will get it back in the mail ASAP.

C'mon cricket, you post a picture of you w/ two fingers bandaged to high heaven & no explanation??
Seriously, hope all is good and no permanent damage. Usually bandages that big indicate trying to stop a saw blade or something similar. Man there are too many years left to play with too many knives in your lifetime to be messing up. Good thoughts your way, everything to turn out for the best.
Be safe.

had a serious accident wrapping a izula it popped out of the sheath while i was tightening the final knot and went right through two fingers, severed the artery and nerve bundle in the middle finger cut to the bone. dont know if it will need surgery yet at least no tendons severed. takeing alot of pain killers.

thanks for asking

I feel your pain. Literally. If it was like mine, it was razor sharp...so it heals up pretty fast. The doc actually commented on how precise the cuts were.

At least you got sweet hoodies to wear and a cool way to light Camels...:D

Holy crap dave are you serious? That is the way myself and the Bite Club all got the bite for the most part.

I think when my wife's Izula gets here & if she wants the handle wrapped, I am going to duct tape the damn knife in the sheath before I start wrapping it. This is the 3rd or 4th time on this forum I have heard an Izula popped out of it's sheath & bit someone while they were working on it. I'm too darn old to have any more cuts in my life, have seen enough E.R. rooms in my life to last me. Good luck cricket, keep us abreast of how things are going too.

Dave that's the EXACT same way that I sliced through my thumb really bad needing 4 stitches and barely missed my nerve. You, Adam, and I all need to just get some handles to slap on our Izulas!:D Rest up and keep us in the loop on your progress! At least it didn't get your trigger finger!

The sweatshirt looks good, I can't wait to get mine!

I used to ziptie the knife into the sheath for wrapping but now I wrap the blade in a rag and chock it into a vice. Not for safety but just because I can get the wrapping tighter, but it is safer.

Dave is very responsible with his blades but when you spend as much time as him playing with knives, guns and tools there's bound to be an incident.

My last was sharpening a machete.........bad memories....:barf:

I never thought of the vise, will have to try that when my wife's Izula gets here tomorrow or Monday. I have put hundreds of thousands of rounds down range in my .45's, & there's not a week that goes by I don't get "bit" by one of them. That old axiom, more repetitions, less concentration, more relaxed, more trouble. Thanks for the vise tip.
Be safe.

#5 . . .
Glad you both are ok.

Dave- I hate to be "that guy" but wheres the photos of the finished wrap? :)

I generally try to wrap mine in a manner that the pressure will never hit toward the blade if it slips. some wraps thats not possible, but I like the simple double strand/color weave I do for that reason. For the final knot I'm usually setup to be pulling down with the point of the blade/sheath in my gut/crotch.

I'm sure you were being very cautious, but with the amount of izula bites from this, it's something to look into closer and see if it's always the same part causing the popouts. (i spent a little too much time working in the safety dept)
