So I was at wal-mart, just taking a look at some fishing lures when I happened by the knife counter. Now I've bought, at the most, probably 2 knives in wal-mart my whole life. I make it a point to support my local knife dealer. He's an awesome guy with a small shop who can talk all day about knives and never bore you. Anyways back to my story. I see a tenacious in the case, (had no idea wal-mart even carried spyderco.) So, I ask to see it because, why not?

The sporting goods section was pretty busy, probably because they're stocking all the new spring fishing gear. The guy behind the counter was very nice, and knowledgeable about knives. He showed me his, I showed him mine, sort of the usual knife nut talk. :D I decide I want to get the tenacious, since I've never owned a spyderco and it's really growing on me. The guy starts digging for the box when, behind me, this old man turned his shopping cart into a tower of insulated metal cups, and a rack of knife sharpening tools. It was SO LOUD! Cups everywhere, and the guy looked like Usian Bolt leaving that aisle. Me and my buddy help pick up the cups while wal-mart guy continues looking for the box. He's definitely annoyed at this point. People keep coming up for help and he really needed another worker back there. He finally asks me if I really want the box and I told him not to worry about it. The knife was laying loose in the case and he couldn't find which tag to scan so he looks at me, shrugs and scans a barcode for $26. I'm thinking, this can't be the right price. I get home and decide to check on their website...$41.97.

That series of knife from spyderco are really incredibly good value allready, its allmost like you stole it :D

Your Walmart carries Spyderco? Nice. Mine carries a mix of Kershaw, Gerber, and SOG, a couple of Bucks, the classic SAK, and some cheap Camillus/Winchester stuff.

Great story and a cool knife. Not a bad knife for your first Spyderco, I think you will be impressed with how it performs.
