This may have been mentioned previously, but a great sale on camelbak mule at cabelas. Reg. $125, on sale for $39.99 and when I checked out, it only rang up at $29.99 which is a steal. This will work out perfect for my day pack, I can't wait to fill it up with all my goodies.

# Large 100-oz. Omega Water Beast reservoir
# 1,000-denier Cordura
# 540 cubic inches of cargo space
# Insulated drink tube with HydroLink Big Bite Valve cover
# Integrated mil.-spec. MOLLE/PAL attachment system
# Noiseless zippers won't spook wary game
# Padded Floating Shoulder Harness
# Air Director back panel increases ventilation

Yep, that is the exact one I bought on Saturday. They only had the desert camo, which was the one I wanted anyways. Even the sign in the bin had $39.99, but I'll take the ring up price of $29.99 any day of the week.:)

No...it wouldn't have been mentioned previoulsy because we call it 'deal-spotting' and it is not cool per the forum rules...

Deal spotting is a no go?
If it is then that's a dumb rule.

Totally agree. Not letting us share good opportunities to save our hard earned money just because the paying bladeforums dealers cant compete with the price is bs.

No...deal spotting is prohibited to prevent non-paying members from spamming the site with their products...not that hard to understand...

If overrunning the forums is the concern we could have 1 stickied thread of consolidated deal spotting, but I contend that isnt the issue.

This forum has as much product placement as anything else, however unintentional it maybe (ie reviews, recommendations, ect), but I guess the sky would fall if we could also discuss where to find these things at a good price.

looked everywhere on the forums, no-one selling hydration gear. Darn, guess I'll have to keep carrying that heavy bucket of water:)

Newb...if you don't like the policy, don't post here. It isn't that hard. Deal spotting isn't allowed. There is no need for a sticky to allow what is not allowed. There is plenty of product placement, yes, but that is not deal spotting. If I say "Stomper sent me a great knife, here it is" that is not deal spotting. If I say "I bought this item for $XX at a certain store" that is deal spotting. Does this make sense?

Perhaps this doesn't get through to you, so I will explain it. This rule was put into place because some very unscrupulous dealers were abusing the system to prevent paying for a dealer membership. This site is not free to operate, so when people try to find ways around the rules in order to get out of paying for advertise, it hurts the entire community, especially the dealers who DO pay to help keep this site open.

If you don't feel like this is a good rule, you can disagree and I'll respect your decision... but at the end of the day that disagreement doesn't cover the bills I have here. In summation, read the FAQ.

"newb"? No need to be hostile, besides I've been posting here a lot longer than "feb 2008" so speak for yourself.

I'm not going to go just because I disagree with a policy, if you cant handle dissenting opinions perhaps you're the one not fit for a public forum.

I believe youre having issue with comprehension here, by the tone of your rant you clearly didnt quite grasp what I was suggesting.

p.s. congratulations on understanding this mind boggling concept of what constitutes deal spotting, you're acting rather of smug about it, so I just want to let you know your hard work at figuring it out hasnt gone unnoticed.

It's a shame to let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I think its unfortunate that it's been decided that a blanket rule is the only solution when there are so many established members who are only trying to help their bro's out.

Really? Like October 2008? Hmm...so that means you have been banned or can't read...

I can handle dissenting opinions fine. However, people who are ignorant of rules who cry about them are a bit irritating.

Oohh...way to go with the kindergarten burn there  I grasp exactly what you typed...doesn't make it less ignorant.

Your troll-like behavior has been noted...and will be ignored from here on out...

Come on guys, we've all got our opinions on the matter but there are other places to discuss them. Let's not wreck this good place with pointless arguing amongst ourselves.

This is Spark's place and he pays the bills and makes the rules. There are places to discuss them, and places to have arguments.

Please, not here. Here is for discussing wilderness and survival topics.

Personally, I would edit out any rule-breaking posts I had made, but that's me.

Well, you claim to handle these thigns "fine", but you seem to be getting rather worked up about it for nothing. That and apparently to you dissension=crying, disagreement=ignorance.

I understand the rule, and abide by it, but I dont agree with it. This is something you cant seem to wrap your mind around.

And please do add me to your ignore list. I look forward to not having you address me or respond to anything I say.

Cheers!
