I have owned probably 20-25 Bark River knives over the years and have a few times dealt directly with Mike and the gang up north. I have always had a good experience - those guys (and gals) are awesome - but this time I wanted to post about it.
So, I recently sent them a knife that I bought for my dad 7 years ago - it's a Mini NorthStar (a model that BRKT no longer makes). The problem was that my dad's idiot friend tried to sharpen the convex zero-grind edge with one of those cheap-ass, kitchen-top, auto-electric sharpeners... he totally screwed it up! So I sent it to Mike at Bark River for refinishing...
Even knowing that it was "user error," Bark River refurbished the entire knife under their warranty. That's awesome! Here are some before and after images (sorry about the crappy cell phone pix). They did an outstanding job on this knife - they not only refinished the blade, but also polished the entire handle and even threw in a new sheath to boot (the belt loop on the old was was pretty blown out), and all for only $15 (the cost of shipping). It's better now than it was new!

Thanks again to Mike and Alicia and the whole gang at Bark River for taking care of me once again! I will continue to recommend them and their knives without any hesitation whatsoever!
Cheers,
Derek...
