I had a great first time buying experience this week with JapaneseKnifeDirect.com. I was looking for a particular Moki knife and they had one at a good price. I first emailed them with a few questions and received a quick and helpful response from Koki Iwahara. I'm a particular buyer and ended up exchanging a number of emails with Koki as I asked more questions and made some requests. He continued to be extremely responsive and helpful, and emailed me pics of the exact knife I would be receiving. (I should mention that in Seki City, Japan, they are 14 hours ahead of CDT, so we usually communicated during my evening hours. which was the next morning for Koki.)
I ultimately placed my order and received emailed updates for every stage of the shipping process. And I received the knife in Texas 3 days after my order---very impressive. The knife itself is beautiful, with the fit and finish Moki is known for, including stunning covers and well done grinds. And like all Mokis, it came very sharp.
JapaneseKnifeDirect has a sister site, JapaneseChefsKnife.com, which carries a wide selection of kitchen knives, and it's also worth a look. If you have a taste for superb Japanese cutlery, I highly recommend these sites and suggest you speak with Koki Iwahara.
