I was visiting friends and family in OK (this was in OKC) a couple of weekends ago, and decided to visit a brick & mortar knife shop (online presence too) to look at an automatic knife I have been interested in. First off their shop has A LOT of current production knives available; I could have easily spent 4 times as long in there getting my fingerprints all over their stock. Second the folks working there were very friendly and helpful, including a PIA request I had for buying with shipping/ (and postage) packaging. The reasons for this was I was going to see friends later, one of whom is a "knife-guy", and as OK is an auto-friendly state, I would be able to legally carry it that night (something I can't do up here at the slightly cooler end of I-35), then package it up and drop it at a post office the next morning before my flight. So as we were going through that process to get shipping ready, someone there asked what time I was leaving the next day, in preparation to ask why I don't just drop it back off for them to ship it for me. My initial reason for not suggesting that, was I didn't want to trouble them the day after the sale. They said it would be fine, and now they had everything ready (box, packaging, postage/label), it would likely work easier for all. I got the knife a couple of days after my return home, and so all went as intended. Bonus for there being a Dunkin' Donuts in close proximity so I got to live an old fat bastard's dream!
