Tim's take-down folder easily makes the top ten. Or five. Or three... Charles Bennica is especially deserving, too.
My head will explode if I tried to figure out my Top Choices. I literally shot 400+ folders for 2007 for makers and dealers. Yikes! (175 of which are on a website still unannounced)
I'll come back tonight and see if I can post some more highlights.
Those Bennica's with the tortoise shell are killer. I love picture filled threads as well, lets keep them coming. Coop i'd imagine it being difficult to give some of those 400+ folders back.
Keep them coming guys! I'd love to see recent pics of whats out there. Im especially interested the custom folders that go from the work bench to the collection. We never get to see those peices. Do you guys have any you'd be kind enough to share??
Al Dippold folding dagger I saw on Blade Gallery a while back. It actually features some Hanson bugs and faces forged into Al's steel.
Not many of you seem too interested in Mel Pardue's work.. I used to be into it when I started collecting and sort of lost interest but from time to time it still inerests me. I think he actually makes very nice knives but so many of them that I get bored by alot of models. I owned one that felt real nice in the hand and was great quality. Heres a photo I grabbed from True North's site and I merged the pictures together. I think its an elegant looking fighting knife.
I really like Cliff Parker's work. Great damascus maker, uses a lot of ivory, super small packages with great detail. This may not be a '07 folder, but worth a look.
Here's a very nice Slipjoint Steve Dunn completed recently with a cow bone handle, engraved bolsters, and escutcheon, 1084 Blade, 3 3/4 blade. Steve has just got back into making Slipjoints.
