I was in San Onofre, California a couple months ago camping on the beaches of camp Pendleton, and on our way back to Arizona we stopped at Wright Knife in La Mesa. The knife store is owned by Dennis Wright who was retired from the Navy and I talked to him for about an hour about steels and also checked out his huge variety of Benchmades, Spydercos, Chris Reeve and Al Mar, SOG's, and Bucks. I picked up a Buck 102 and a Buck Folder. I just want to share my experience with you guys and was wandering if any of you have been to that knife shop, or other great knife shops feel free to share your experience.

Bill, Dennis and his lovely wife Kathy have been friends of mine for close to eight years now...ever since, like you, I 'discovered' their shop...

Dennis knows knives, and is one of the last independant 'brick & mortar' store in SoCal. I'm up here in Montana now, but do miss visiting the Wright's knife shop...good folks

Thanks. It was the subject of discussion for quite a while after we got home. What a refreshing change after visiting those mall shops. Wright's will be one of our regular attractions on our San Diego trips from now on. We learned a lot.
