GREAT larger folding knives at around $100?

...The 1820 Needs Work, particularly the G-10 handled limited edition like I lucked into, only has a 3" Wharncliffe-style straight edge, but it cuts 'bigger', if that makes sense. I have been impressed with it, my first Sandvik 14C28N blade, especially it's edge retention.

Stainz

+1  My very favorite EDC for work.

Spyderco Military, Benchmade 710, ZT 0200, Emerson CQC8

Can't go wrong with the classics

  1. Spyderco Military
  2. Manix 2
  3. Kershaw Tyrade
  4. Benchmade Rukus
  5. Benchmade 710
  6. Kershaw Junkyard Dog II
  7. Zero Tolerance 0200

The order is debatable...

The Buck Omni folding hunter knife in 12pt or 10pt. I have the 12pt and I love it. Its a very under rated knife that deserves a lot of respect. Its built like a tank and light as a feather. It only cost about 40.00 dollars. I would stake my life on it if I had to. Oh and did I mention is sharp as a razor out of the box and has buck warranty and is made in the U.S.A. You cant go wrong with that.

Being the devout Spyder-head that I am it's little surprise that I'm recommending the C-36 Spyderco Military model, The G-10 Police model and the ZDP-189 Endura. You just couldn't go wrong with any of those 3.

However I'm not totally predjudiced to only one company. The Benchmade Rukus model has always appealed to my love of that particular blade design.

The Spyderco Chinook III is also a tank of a folder and deserves serious consideration.

Ive actually been dying to get my hands on a minirukus for forever. I'm just searching for something for a better value. That thing is expensive!

I appreciate all the comments and I have narrowed down my choices to these knives:

- spyderco military
- spyderco police g10
- ZT 0200
- kershaw tyrade g10

pros/cons are highly welcome! These choices were based on a combination of aesthetics and material. Thanks again!

The SOG Vulcan is great with VG10 steel. I own one.
The Leatherman Klamath is the only knife that is much better.

Also check out the Benchmade 580 or 585 Barrages, great knives, I own both and I carry the 585 Mini Barrage almost everyday.
