Last week while out making my day off of work during the week rounds at the local Outdoor & Sporting Good's stores in the area, I came across what was (unknown to me prior) my new knife. :D

First, let me state I am not nor ever have been a Benchmade fan (exception being the Nimravus) But, when I came across and handled the new CSK II I was more than impressed. And being under $100 was icing on the cake. (payed $70 for this one)
I couldnt stand the original CSK!! But really, if ya get a chance check one of these out.

Overall Length: 10.75"
Blade Length: 6"
Material: 1095 Carbon
Style: Clip point
Total weight: 7.50oz

Contruction is Full Tang and this thing feels solid! Balance and heft feel equally as good. (would like to have a good choil though)

The handle is a rubberized soft material that feels good in the hand, with a good traction pattern on the top and bottom of it. Also a good sized finger guard. I have soaked the handle down and it still retains great grip even when wet.

The sheath is a decent leather with holes for cord. There is a belt loop as well as a Malice clip on the back for molle carry. Multiple carry options.

All-in-all, I am VERY impressed with this knife! I am yet to get it out for a good beating in the woods. Really wish I would have had it for my camping trip just a few days prior to purchase. However, a thorough punishment is planned for it and Ill post some pics after its done.
Just wanted to share a nice inexpensive knife option with ya guys

Looks a lot like a Cold Steel SRK, which used to be a decent reasonable priced carbon steel knife too. How thick is it?

It looks like a decent enough knife, although I have no use for the Benchmade company.

Why not? I have been pretty happy with the folders I have from them. Did they have some Ontario-esque antics in the past?

Thanks for the post and pics, Beroya!

I've been checking out that knife on various websites. Even posted about it here
a couple of days ago.

Good looking knife from Benchmade at a very reasonable price point.

And I don't know of a comparable 6" blade knife since Cold Steel stopped making the SRK in carbon steel -
and the RAT 6 is not yet available.

Just not sure whether to get the PE or CE.
PE's better looking, but the serrated edge can come in very handy sometimes.

I have an AFCK. The plastic spacer at the rear of the knife, where the thong hole is, is broken. I contacted them to buy one. They told me that I couldn't buy one, that I would have to send the knife to them.

Here's the rub. Folding knives coming across the Canada/U.S. border are confiscated on a regular basis. If Customs can open the knife with a flick of the wrist, they are considered an illegal weapon. Sure, a request can be made to tighten up the pivot pin so that can't happen, but there's no guarantee. So for the sake of a plastic (?) part, that I was willing to pay for, I'm supposed to take a chance on never seeing the knife again.

On top of that, the postage and insurance for me to ship it to them would greatly exceed the cost of the part.

So, the bottom line is that one day, I'm going to make a spacer, and………..I'll never buy another Benchmade product again..

I´m curious about the coating on this one. It looks like a good knife, for sure, with a good street price.
The black coating on my Benchmade Skirmish is very prone to scratching, but the Skirmish is stainless.
So, after the field testing is done, could you post your impressions about it?
I just ordered a RC-3, and people tell RAT Cutlery coating is good. I fancy the idea of buying a RC-6 in the future, whenever it´s available, but the CSK seems to be an option, and it´s available now. Maybe I'll buy both:).

Kind Regards.

It looks like a solid, well designed knife. I'm not all that fond of its hollowground grind, but that is the only critique I could come up with. The sheath looks very good, they put some real work into making it up-to-date.

Congratulations on this one!

I like that they are making them from 1095 now. It looks like a solid contender to the old SRK.

I saw these on the net & they really do look like a good blade. Very similar to the old SRK but with what appears to be a better designed handle. And no choil - which is a plus to some...

I wonder how steeply this knife is ground? I had my old SRK thinned down some & am very pleased with its increased cutting ability. If this one is ground more thinly I would consider it a plus.

If someone already said it I apologize but is this a US made knife? If so I would consider that another plus.

And slightly off topic but why is it that CS never made the SRK out of the SK5 carbon steel?

They did, they just discontinued it in favour of the AUS8 stainless steel. If you look around the B/S/T forums they sometimes make a brief appearence.
IIRC I picked mine up for $35 :D Its a heck of a knife even if it is a CS knife.
