Harry Jensen put me on to a young guy in Alaska that could supply ivory. I bought a lot from him. It's really good stuff. I bought large pieces and I'm cutting it up myself, but there's very little waste.
He can get scales, oosic - just about anything.
He got my wife some gorgeous petrified wood.
I have no interest in his business. I just wanted to pass it on.

Another thing about this fellow is he ships on approval, rather than buying something sight unseen. Great guy to do bidness with.

Thanks for putting me on to him. I'm still cutting scales out of that thing and it's still huge. I'm getting some great stuff from it. It had some nice bark too.
I hear he's getting some oosic soon.
He sell small stuff too. You don't have to buy only big chunks. I like to buy in bulk, but I know a lot of other makers don't.
Can't get my wife and kids to come near the shop when I'm cutting it though.

You are correct. He is on here as Yekim and his name is Mike Willoya. You should se the large pieces of Jade that he can get!

The "small piece (3 lbs.) was bone dry, but I happened to waft one end under my nose (before it touched a tool), and I'da swore it smelled just like the elephant enclosure down at the zoo!!!!! Wife said the same ('course she said a few other choice things once she got a whiff...gents, don't never tell 'em to close their eyes & take a sniff, HEEHEEHEE!!!):-] :-]

And I can't even begin to describe what that smell does to a pregnant woman.

My wife is threatening to put a dark room light (those red ones) on my shop. She wants me to put it on when I'm grinding on any kind of bone so she'll know to stay away. (It may never get turned off.)

When I started cutting on the big 25 lb. chunk she didn't come near the shop for days. And I couldn't come in the house with my shop clothes on. She said she could still smell it. I didn't notice it after 4 hours of cutting it.
